Breckenridge Barn is a rustic and romantic event venue on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, located on 31 acres of farmland in Dorchester County. Founded by owners Mark and Leslie Murphy, Breckenridge Barn is named after the Breckenridge family, who were owners and stewards of the property for three generations.
Breckenridge Barn can comfortably seat 300 guests in our beautiful post and beam barn. Amenities in the barn include a prep kitchen, food serving area, full restrooms, and a magniﬁcent 530sqft bridal suite.
Outside the barn is two large paver patios with string lights, 3 ponds, and over 5-acres of beautiful landscaping and walking paths. A white stoned circle drive connects to a parking lot that will hold 175 vehicles, with overﬂow parking for an additional 125.
At the front of the property sits a recently renovated groomsman’s cottage, featuring restrooms, a large bar, pool table, cornhole, horseshoes, a lounge area, changing areas, a ﬁrepit, and outdoor space.
Breckenridge Barn was founded in 2021 by owners Mark & Leslie Murphy. Leslie, a nurse for 15 years and Integrative Health Practitioner decided to stay home with her family in 2019. After leaving her lifetime career as a nurse and selling her health coaching business, she decided it was time to follow her dream of opening a barn style venue, after getting married in a working barn several years prior.
Mark had been lifelong friends with the original property owner, Chip, and within 24 hours of deciding on moving forward with this dream, Chip agreed to sell the land to Mark and Leslie – it was fate. The property was previously a corn maze and produce stand known as “Breckenridge Farm”, Breckenridge being a now 3rd generational name in Chips family. When trying to decide on a venue name, nothing felt right until Mark and Leslie thought of keeping it in the prior family’s name and carrying on their legacy and Breckenridge Barn was born.
Having a family name with meaning means so much to us since this will be a family run venue that we have poured our hearts into.
